We live in a generation today where we are judged by the number of our followers. You are deemed an influencer or celebrity if you have a lot of followers!

I have a question for you. Who do you follow ?

Matthew chapter 16 verses 24 to 26

“Then Jesus told his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul ?” 

Life is worthless if we pursue gaining fame and following on earth but end up facing judgment eternally because we followed the pattern of the world. Jesus is making a call to you today to follow Him. What does this mean ? You have to deny yourself, repent from your sins which separate all of us from God. Romans 3 verse 23 tells us “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” The next step is to embrace the cross and follow Jesus. This means believing in His death on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins, to have peace with God. This also means following Him and not following after pleasures or temporary satisfaction. If you forsake a life of seeking earthly pleasures to follow Jesus, His promise to you is eternal life, a purposeful, joyful and abundant life not just on earth but forever.
